MembershipOverview The primary ways of being connected to Praise Church is by attending weekly services, participating in biblical community through Fellowship Groups, engaging in a mentoring relationship with another member, and becoming a member of Praise Church. Our prayer would be that you choose at least one of these areas of involvement, so you may experience true connection at Praise Church. Membership Membership is about more than just attending church meetings. It is connecting to the church’s mission and values. By becoming a member, you are committing to be part of a spiritual family that will provide support and encouragement in your walk with Christ. Our hope is that at God directs, you will take the following steps in becoming a member of Praise Church. 1. Attend an Encounter Weekend One of our greatest desires is to ensure that every person comes in direct contact with the powerful message of the cross of Christ. Martin Luther stated, “The cross IS our theology.” It is only through the power of what Christ did on Calvary that we are able to be called the “righteousness of God.” As believers, it is imperative that we have a full understanding of all that took place at Calvary, and its implications for us today. Encounter weekends are designed to equip both believers and non-believers with a full understanding of the Gospel. These weekends are offered twice a year (spring/fall), for both men and women. 2. Attend Essentials Class The Essentials class is a 4 week course, designed to assist you in your practical, every day walk with Christ. Things taught and discussed in this class include the essentials of the gospel message, baptism, Bible study, prayer, community, and our basic beliefs. The Essentials class is offered twice a year (spring/fall), shortly after the Encounter weekends, and are currently held on Wednesday evenings at 7pm. 3. Baptism For many, water baptism is the first public step of obedience to Christ. If you have not been baptized following your salvation, we ask you to take this step before becoming a member of Praise Church. For more information on baptism, please contact us, to speak to a pastor.
